Questions to Ask, When You Visit a Decorator.

1. Do they have a business license and insurance?

2. What type of training have they had and how do they keep up with new designs?

3. Do they have a portfolio of their own work, not just magazine photos? Is there a variety of types of décor in their portfolio, at least the type of work you are looking to have them do?

4. What type of training and experience have they had?

5. Have they worked at the venue where you booked your event?

6. If your event is outside, be sure to see some photos of work that they have done outside? Ask what type of issues will you have to contend with if your event is outside?

7. Does the design that you have chosen work for the venue that you are using especially if it's outside?

8. What is the minimum set-up time needed for the décor that you have chosen?

9. What are the payment procedures? Do you have a written contract?

10. Can you bring in other balloons with their décor? Ex. Company does the dance floor but you want to put up centerpieces with balloons.

11. Will they need to return to pick-up framework or are you required to return it?

12. Is there a reservation fee to hold your date?
